I am not big into giving or receiving Christmas gifts, but when it comes right down to it I still dream about getting that perfect present. The one that you so desperately needed or that is just so pimp that you know you would never have bought it for yourself. So, while I am stuck in the house with an injured knee from too much bike riding, I thought I would distract myself from how perfectly sunny it is outside by compiling my dream-gift-wish-list.
I’ve been after a new front light for my bike for a while now, one that easily and quickly attaches to my handlebars, so I can move it from bike to bike without hassle. The Knog Blinder 4 is a simple solution. RRP is $49.95.
I have wanted a stowable backpack for a while now, so that I can take it with me when I leave the house just in case I come across something I want to buy. It also comes in yellow, which I just cannot resist these days. RRP is $35.
Chris King only does two production runs of this titanium headset each year. It is slightly heavier than the aluminium version, but it is the last headset you will ever need. I have no idea of the RRP, I would have to work out where to buy it first!
Made from rubber and cotton this is Brooks’ first vegan saddle. They say it acts like a hammock to absorb the impacts of riding. Unlike the leather saddle it requires no wearing in and no ongoing maintenance. The ladies model, C17, retails for 145€.
You will notice that there are two mixtes in my dream-gift-wish-list this year, and it is simply because I couldn’t choose between them. Which I suppose doesn’t matter because at the moment I can only dream about owning either one of these!
The Royal H Lovelybike Mixte has lugs and paintwork to dream about. Decked out in chrome, brass and brown leather it is very easy on the eye. Check out some of the paintwork detail.
The Kumo Cycles Miss Patty also has lug work to drool over. The heart shapes are hand-cut and painted, while the chrome top tubes just oozes pimp.
